The first Agrotrend was held in 1978 and this year will be our 41st annual event. Agrotrend is a field day event offering businesses, organisations and community groups the opportunity to promote products and services to a dedicated agricultural and horticultural audience drawn principally from the Wide Bay Burnett and Bundaberg Regions.
Past exhibits have showcased the latest innovations for sugar, horticulture, irrigation and water supply, machinery, motor vehicles and trucks, livestock and animal husbandry, aquaculture, agricultural supplies and packaging and transportation.
The event has grown to include a lifestyle component including caravans, camper trailers, camping, craft stalls and entertainment for the whole family.
Often referred to as the salad bowl of Queensland, Agrotrend is the perfect event to celebrate the farmers and associated industries that make up the backbone of our region. The current local agricultural industries generate significant potential for further investment into the sector, be it into export market development or food processing. There have already been successful examples of value-adding to primary production in the region. As the domestic market relationships mature and the nature of global demand trends change, the Bundaberg region sits in an ideal position to take advantage of new opportunities and potential in the production and supply of food not only to the nation, but to the world.
